It seems like leather and linen on a bag goes pretty well together.

Net-a-porter.com recently updated with two bags of such pairing from Proenza Schouler and Chloé.

Proenza Schouler PS1 medium linen satchel

Chloé Billie leather and linen shoulder bag

Very chic, casual and comfortable looking when carried. I personally adore the PS1 and the colour combination of the brown leather, black suede and beige linen is amazing.

I have a pink piggy bank, a gift from the bf a few years back and it stores my S$1 and 50 cent coins.

My gold and silver.

As the days of dropping coins passed, my pig went Oink!

“I’m full to the brim!”, it says.

So I went down to Chinatown and came home with a pretty rabbit, in line with the Chinese Zodiac animal for 2011.

What kind of money banks do you have?

I call her Bunny.

Her tail is short and stumpy.

Someone gave her egg trays to rest on instead of her usual cardboard scraps.

I awoke her up from her snooze.

Time for a stretch!

Opps, her paw got stuck!

Bunny wishes you a happy rabbit new year!

Meowwwwwww….

How did you spend your last few moments of 2010?

How did your new year start?

I counted down and watched the fireworks dazzle the sky from the Esplanade On the Waterfront with the bf, our yearly “tradition”.

Sneaked a picture through an opening of the sealed up bridge towards the Esplanade from Fullerton.

The fireworks this year was stunning! Look at the madrid of colours in the sky!

Thereafter, it was party time around Singapore including the Asian Civilizations Museum!

If you would like to catch the fireworks that I recorded with the iPhone, click on the links here (Part 1) and here (Part 2).

HAPPY NEW YEAR SINGAPORE!!!

Goodbye 2010

31Dec10

It is sad that 2010 has to end.

It has been an awesome year of….

1. Holidays (Malacca, Bangkok, Jakarta/Bogor, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, KL (again), Osaka)

2. Balenciaga (City RGGH, Envelope RGGH)

3. Live action (YOG Judo)

4. Dress up (Pirate for D&D, Toy Soldier for Halloween)

5. Meetups (Animal farm girls, Gfs, Uni friends, Colleagues/Ex-colleagues, Family)

6. Happyhighsemidrunk moments (Tax bash, D&D, Office Christmas Party)

7. Bangs (Yes I cut bangs twice but it only lasted for a few weeks each time)

8. Love (A big thank you to the bf who has been there for me thick and thin for the past 5 years despite my tantrums, anger fits and my flaws)

I wish for the same as above and more to add on for 2011!

The Eve of NYE

30Dec10

31 Dec 2010 is an official non-work day for us so my colleagues and I decided to leave the office early for a feast in the East!

1740h: Left the office

1820h: Reached Eng Seng Restaurant only to find it fully occupied. We had called to reserve four black pepper crabs but we still had to queue.

1900h: Finally allocated a table and our food came in 5-10 minutes.

2000h: Our crabs were served last but it was well worth the wait.

Address: 247/249 Joo Chiat Place

Tel: +65 6440 5560

Opening Hours: 5pm – 10pm

The crabs run out within approx. 3 hours so you have to be there early or call to reserve your share.

2100h: In bid to digest our heavy dinner, we took a 20-25 minutes walk to Ice Cream Chefs for dessert!

Chosen flavour is Rootbeer ice cream mixed-in with Fizzy Cola Candy (S$4.20)

It costs S$3.30 for a regular size cup + S$0.90 for one mix-in.

Pops in your mouth!

Address: 520 East Coast Road #01-06 Ocean Park Singapore

Tel: +65 6446 6355

Opening Hours: 12pm – 10pm (Sun – Thu), 12pm – 11pm (Fri – Sat, PH)

2200h: We wanted to have a drink at Margarita’s but they closed at 10pm, so we walked further down and arrived at Two Fat Men.

A very nice chillax place for the guys to watch and discuss on soccer, friendly staff and it stocks up a pretty decent variety of beer. The one thing I love about this place is the 1664 Kronenbourg Blanc on the tap.

Address: 376 East Coast Road Singapore

Tel: +65 6346 0046

Opening Hours: 5pm – 3am daily.

Simplicity, chic and functional.

A very beautiful  dark petrol blue textured leather purse from YSL going for GBP 375.  I love the “Y” badge.

Thomson is becoming more happening lately and the latest addition to food is Le Petite Cuisine that serves European and French Cuisine.

Location: 227 Upper Thomson Road, Singapore 574359

Time: 11.30am – 2.30pm, 5.30pm – 9.30pm (Closed on Mondays)

The interior is unassuming, with an adorable Helicopter and Ship light fitting in the restaurant.  Unfortunately, the kitchen is open-concept so you will leave the place smelling of food.

Here’s a peak of the menu.

No service charge or GST!

Add S$3 to your meal and you get a soup or cake or coffee/TWG tea.

I love the mushroom soup and warm bread served with butter.  How often do you get “hot” bread? Hardly… So for an affordable place like LPC, it is a bonus.

The bf had the platter of lamb, beef and pork sausages with salad and frites (he enjoyed the frites very much). This came with 3 types of sauce for you to pair your sausage.

I had the scared tuna steak with onion marmalade which was served with butter rice. I didn’t quite fancy the rice but the tuna steak was a generous serving and I like my fish semi-cooked, so this was lovely.

So that was my Frenchie Sunday Brunch ♥

If you prefer the Alfresco vibe, head down to the first stall located at 10 Jalan Serene, Serene Centre #01-05, Singapore 258748.
